Many people have been asking why Messages don't sync across devices. For example, deleting a conversation on your iPhone doesn't' make it go away on your Mac and iPad.
Almost a year ago Apple promised that this feature would soon be available. Now a few days shie of the annual WWDC conference where they announced it a year ago it is available!
In order to enable the Messages to sync through iCloud, you need to have all your devices on the current operating system 10.13.5 for Mac and iOS 11.4 for iPhone and iPad.
To enable Messages sync on your iPhone or iPad you have to:
- Open Preferences
- Select your Apple iD at the top of the screen
- Select iCloud
- Messages turn on by turning it green
Enable Messages sync on your Mac:
- Open Messages
- Check "Enable Messages in iCloud"
- It will take a few minutes for the messages to load and synchronize
MacOS upgrade to 10.13.5 is big, please give it time to install. Once the installation starts the screen will turn dark with no indication what is happening. Just walk away and don't interrupt the update. As alway's have a current backup before updating your computers.
